Holy Land and Jordan Combination Tour - 11 days/ 10 nights – Thursday arrival

This guaranteed weekly tour caters to the Christian traveler visiting the Holy Land and the Hashemite Kingdom. One of our most popular programs, available to those who are looking for a deep, serious and spiritual experience.

THURSDAY
Arrival
Upon arrival to airport meet our representative and transfer to hotel in Tel Aviv for an overnight.

FRIDAY
Tel Aviv - Caesarea - Megiddo
Meet guide, drive to the city of Jaffa (Joppa) for a short visit; take a walking tour in picturesque alleys of this old, fortified town. Pass by the house of Simon the Tanner and marvel at the views from the hilltop. Proceed along the coast to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. Visit the excavations of the ancient city, the Roman Theater and aqueduct. Continue to Megiddo, identified in the book of Revelations as the site of Armageddon. Visit the archaeological excavations including the well-preserved water-supply system. Drive towards the Sea of Galilee and overnight in Tiberias.

SATURDAY
Tiberias - Capernaum - Golan Heights
After a tour of Tiberias, continue to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry. Visit the remains of the 2nd century synagogue. Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the miracle of the loaves and fishes and visit the Church of Multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor. Drive on to the Mount of Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus preached the “Sermon on the Mount” and where it is believed that Jesus picked his 12 apostles. Ascend to the Golan Heights to view the panoramic view of the peaks of Mt. Hermon and the rugged plateau of the Golan Heights. Return for overnight in Tiberias.

SUNDAY
Cana - Nazareth - Beit Shean
Travel to Cana to visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine. Proceed to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood, and visit the Church of Annunciation, built on the site where archaeologists believe the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary. See, too, Mary’s Well and Joseph’s Church. Drive along the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean with its recently excavated amphitheater. Visit the excavations of this beautiful preserved Roman City which was destroyed in an earthquake.  Continue onward along the Jordan River to Jerusalem.

MONDAY
Dead Sea - Massada
Through the remarkable scenery of the Dead Sea drive to Massada, situated right on an isolated cliff in the Judean Desert. Ascend by cable car to the fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, King Herod’s palace, the synagogue, bathhouse and much more. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea. See the site of the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Bring your swimsuit as if weather permits it’s possible to “float” on the salty, mineral-rich water.
Overnight in Jerusalem.

TUESDAY
Jerusalem (Old City)
Start the day at Mt. Scopus. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of Jerusalem. Tour includes the Mount of Olives, a stop at the site where Jesus first taught the Lord’s Prayer, and the Garden of Gethsemane where Judas betrayed Jesus. Enter the Old City from the Cardo and see the Western Wall and the actual site of the Second Temple, the Temple Mount. Walk the Way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa, to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, housing both the traditional site of Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection. Then at Mount Zion, enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of Jerusalem, with the traditional tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper.

WEDNESDAY
Jerusalem (New City) - Ein Karem - Bethlehem
Today’s tour includes Yad Vashem, the official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, located on the foot of Mt. Herzl. Enjoy Ein Karem- a picturesque village on the southwestern outskirts of Jerusalem. This small village has great significance in Christian traditions: according to tradition, John the Baptist was born here. Visit the Israel Museum and its detailed model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple as well as the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls. Drive by the Knesset (House of Parliament) and the campus of Hebrew University. Continue to Bethlehem to see Rachel’s Tomb and the Church of the Nativity.

THURSDAY
Sheik Hussein Bridge -Jerash - Amman
From hotel in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, drive to the Sheikh Hussein Bridge and enter Jordan. Drive to Jerash – city of the Decapolis, located about 45 kilometers (about 28 miles) north of Amman in the fertile heights of Gilead. Visit the Roman city with colonnaded streets, the ancient theater, the baths, the hilltop temple, the triumphal arch and more. Then drive to Amman for city sightseeing and overnight stay.

FRIDAY
Amman - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Shobak - Petra
After breakfast, drive to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land and ruins of historical sites. Continue on to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. From this point it is possible to see the Jordan Valley, Jericho, the Dead Sea and Jerusalem. Visit the ruins of a Byzantine church with a mosaic floor. Drive via the crusaders’ castle of Shobak to Wadi Musa (Petra) for overnight.

SATURDAY
Petra - Amman
After an early breakfast, ride on horseback into the “Siq” (canyon) and then continue on foot to Petra. The city is known as the Red Rock City, and was the ancient capital of the Nabateans from the 3rd century B.C. till the 2nd century A.D. Visit the carved monuments, such as the El Kahazane (Great Treasury), and the field of the tombs, obelisks, and altar (Al Madhbah) from where you can view the entire red sandstone rock city.
Return to the village of Wadi Musa and drive back to Amman for overnight.

SUNDAY
Amman - Allenby Bridge - Jerusalem/Tel Aviv
After an early breakfast drive to the border crossing and back into Israel and on to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, where the tour ends. (Optional additional nights -see table below).
