We take pleasure in presenting our 10 day Highlights Israel and Jordan Combination Tour. This tour operates on a guaranteed departure basis, including the best of the Christian, Jewish and Hashemite worlds all in one single tour!

SUNDAY
Arrival
Upon arrival to airport meet our representative and transfer to hotel in Tel Aviv for an overnight.222

MONDAY
Tel Aviv – Beersheba - Arad - Massada - Jerusalem
Leave Tel Aviv via Ashdod and Ashkelon to Beersheba, the capital of the Negev, for a short visit. Continue via Arad to Massada. Ascend by cable car to the fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, including Herod’s palaces, the synagogue, the bathhouse, and more. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea. Descend for a possible “float” in the salty water of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Via Ein Gedi & Kalia, proceed to Jerusalem for overnight.

TUESDAY
Jerusalem (New City) - Ein Karem
Drive to Mt. Scopus for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of the Agony. Continue to the Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea Scrolls, then a visit to the beautifully renovated Model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Continue to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the six million Jews who were killed in the Holocaust. Afternoon visit to the Hadassah Medical Center’s synagogue, with Marc Chagall stained glass windows. Continue via Ein Karem, the birth place of John the Baptist, to the hotel for overnight.

WEDNESDAY
Jerusalem (Old City) - Bethlehem
Walk through one of the Gates to the walled Old City. Visit the renewed Jewish Quarter; the Western Wall, the Temple area; the colorful bazaars; Via Dolorosa and the Stations of the Cross ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Drive to Mt. Zion and visit the tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey. In the afternoon continue to Bethlehem to visit Rachel’s Tomb and the Church of the Nativity and return to Jerusalem for overnight.

THURSDAY
Beit Shean - Tiberias - Galilee
Leave Jerusalem and drive north via Jericho, the oldest city in the world. Drive through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean. Visit the excavations of this beautifully preserved Roman City. Proceed to Tiberias, the old center of Jewish learning. Drive along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum to visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue. Continue to a Kibbutz hotel for overnight.

FRIDAY
Upper Galilee - Golan Heights - Nazareth
Drive to the Golan Heights. Visit the former Syrian fortifications and the Druze villages. Visit the Banias, the source of the Jordan River. Proceed via the Hula Valley to Safed, city of Kabbalah, Jewish Mysticism, to visit a synagogue and the artists’ colony. Continue to Nazareth to visit the Christian Holy Sites. Return to the Kibbutz hotel for overnight.

SATURDAY
Acre - Haifa -Tel Aviv
Drive west to Acre to tour the old, famous Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. Continue to Haifa. Sightseeing tour of Haifa, including the Baha'i Shrine & Persian Gardens on Mount Carmel; enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the bay. Proceed along the coast to Caesarea to visit the Roman Theater and the Crusader fortress. End the day with a short city tour of Jaffa (Joppa). Overnight in Tel Aviv.

SUNDAY
Sheik Hussein Bridge - Jerash - Amman
Pick up from your hotel in Tel Aviv and drive to the Sheikh Hussein border crossing and enter Jordan. Drive to Jerash –City of the Decapolis, located about 45 kilometers (about 28 miles) north of Amman in the fertile heights of Gilead. Visit the Roman city with colonnaded streets, the ancient theater, the baths, the hilltop temple, the triumphal arch and more. Then drive to Amman, the Jordanian Capital for overnight stay.

MONDAY
Amman-Petra-Amman
Travel south on the road to Wadi Musa. Enjoy a ride on horseback into the “Siq” (canyon), and then proceed on foot to Petra. The city is known as the Red Rock City, and was the ancient capital of the Nabateans from the 2nd and 3rd century AD. Visit the carved monuments, such as the Great Treasury, El Kahazane, and then the field of the tombs, obelisks, and altar (Al Madhbah from where you can view the entire red sandstone rock city. Return to the village of Wadi Musa and drive back to Amman for overnight.

TUESDAY
Amman - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Israel
Drive to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the holy land and the ruins of this historical site. Continue on to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. From this point you can see the Jordan Valley, Jericho, the Dead Sea and Jerusalem. Drive to the border and back into Israel. Transfer to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, where the tour ends. (Optional additional nights - please see table below).

Please note: The above package is based on a minimum of 2 participants. *Starting 01 March 2012 the tour will spend the second night in Petra whenever available. **Rates for the Jordan tour and border fees are subject to increase according to taxes levied by the Jordanian Authorities. The sequence of the tour, hotels used and sites visited may be amended due to circumstances beyond our control. During High Season tour might spend one night in Haifa or Naharyia instead of Kibbutz.
